Tucson, AZ. March 2011 On Wednesday March 9th, 2011, the Arizona Association of Independent Schools opened its doors to the organization’s second annual Art Show with great success!

"Community outreach is part of the mission of independent schools, and being able to have the AAIS art teachers come together with a recognized leader of the Arizona educational community, as ASU is, has been wonderful for the schools and students," states Barbara Neuske-Perez, the AAIS Visual Arts Facilitator.

"Public display of artwork is an honored tradition that showcases not only the quality of education our students receive but also the vital importance of the arts in education while supporting a rich cultural tradition of sharing with the community. I am very proud to be part of a consortium that is bringing this vision for Arizona independent schools to fruition." Sates show curator Barbara Nueske – Perez. “We are thrilled to be able to present a show of this caliber!”

The show remains on display at ASU’s Art Café through March 30 and features an exhibition of student works from 19 different artists and 4 separate schools. Participating schools include: All Saint’s Episcopal Day School, New Way Academy, Saint Gregory College Preparatory School and Tessearct School.
